Farm Tractor and Car Collide In Cedar County, Missouri
Post Date: November 3rd, 2010
When we are on the road, we understand that we will have to interact with numerous types of vehicles. In Missouri it is not uncommon to see large farming vehicles on the road, and they should be approached with caution. As a Missouri truck accident lawyer, I read about accidents involving farm equipment on the road all too often.
A recent motor vehicle accident involving a farm tractor sent two men to the hospital and cause major damage to the vehicles. In the early evening of November 1, 2010, on Missouri Highway 32 in Cedar County, Brandon Butterfield and Fred Wosoba collided on the road. I have read several versions of the accident that claim Wosoba pulled out in front of Butterfield, but the Missouri Highway Patrol reported the opposite. Brandon Butterfield pulled his 2002 Ford Explorer onto the highway in front of Fred Wosoba’s farm tractor, which injured both men.
Butterfield was taken to St. John’s Hospital by ambulance for serious injuries he received in the collision. Fred Wosoba sustained minor injuries and was taken to Cedar County Memorial Hospital to be examined.
According to Missouri law, the at-fault driver’s liability insurance is supposed to pay for any medical or related expenses of the other person. Some personal injury cases are not what they appear to be and the insurance company will try to find ways to limit the amount of money they pay out for an accident. When this happens, the injured person is stuck with the medical bill for an accident that was not their fault. If you have been in an accident that caused injury, make sure your rights are protected. Please consult an experienced motor vehicle accident attorney before making a statement to the insurance company or accepting any offers.
